With Valentine’s Day looming, the competition gives couples due to tie the knot the chance to bag a wedding at the Cork International Airport Hotel. It will be decided by a first-date story that will win over a panel of judges, with a shortlist of six couples then facing a public vote from radio listeners, who will select the top three. Those couples then face a series of challenges to determine who wins the top prize, which is a wedding reception for 100 guests.
Brid Ryan, banqueting manager at Cork International Hotel, said the stories of first-dates or how couples met did not have to be all sweetness and sunshine — just entertaining.
“Although the competition will be intense, it’s going to be great fun for all involved. Your love story could win you your dream wedding, so it’s definitely worth getting involved in this Wedding Run,” said Brid.
The three finalist couples will be treated to a Valentine’s Day breakfast at the Cork International Hotel, before setting off to accomplish a series of tasks throughout Cork city and county. The winning couple will be announced on air by Dave Mac on Cork’s RedFM following a “winner takes all” Mr & Mrs competition.
Brid said: “The three final couples will also all receive an overnight stay at Cork International Hotel on Saturday, February 15, with dinner included and VIP passes to our Wedding Fair on Sunday, so there’s something in it for everyone.”
Those keen on entering had better get a move on, as the closing date for applications is next Wednesday. Applications for the competition, and further details and terms and conditions, are available at www.corkinternationalairporthotel.com.
