Less Larry — that is the upshot of yesterday’s announcement by 2FM that evergreen radio broadcaster Larry Gogan will be moving from the weekday schedules to the weekend.

News of the veteran DJ’s shift to the weekend had circulated in advance of what amounted to an official announcement by Ryan Tubridy on his own 2FM show yesterday.

Earlier this week, Tubridy had interviewed ex-Westlife member Nicky Byrne, who had revealed he would soon be taking over the 11am to 2pm slot — an overlap with Larry’s Golden Hour, currently broadcast from 1pm to 2pm, Monday to Friday.
