Eircom customers face further wait for landline repairs

Eircom customers — some of whom have been without a landline phone service for up to a month — may have an even longer wait for restoration of service.

Currently, there are over 8,000 faults in the network, including 1,550 faults across Cork and over 700 in Kerry, following the spate of bad weather, according to the company.

More than 50% of the faults in Cork and Kerry are greater than four working days old and 30% of them are more than 10 working days old. South Kerry, North Central Cork and West Cork are the worst impacted, an Eircom spokeswoman said.
