Live updates from Reform Alliance conference in RDS
“A National Conversation on Ireland’s Future" promises to examine issues relating to politics, health and economics through expert panels and a live tweet wall of proposals submitted by attendees and the general public.
You can follow live updates from the conference from our political editor, Michael O'Kane, and reporter, Audrey Ellard Walsh below between 10am and 4pm today.
Since breaking away from Fine Gael, members of the Reform Alliance have been working to establish themselves as a group apart from their former party.
Members of the group include Independent TDs Lucinda Creighton and Terence Flanagan and Senators Paul Bradford and Fidelma Healy-Eames.
They have stated that their focus is on growing the economy, tax relief for working people and families, protecting frontline services in the health system and educational diversity. They believe that ‘radical political reform’ would be required to achieve these goals and that such reform is at the heart of their agenda.
The line-up on the day will include academics, social commentators and industry experts in the areas of health, economics and politics itself.
Panellists will be asked to make introductory remarks of five minutes maximum and subsequent comments will be limited to two minutes each.
With high profile names such as David McWilliams, Olivia O’Leary and advisor to David Cameron Phillip Blonde speaking on the day, discussion promises to be interesting.
