Subway set to create 1,800 jobs over 6 years

Subway has announced plans to create 1,800 jobs at 180 new outlets over the next six years, with 400 of the positions to be on offer this year.

The sandwich chain — whose stores are all independently owned and operated by franchisees — already has 117 Irish outlets with 809 staff employed. It opened 16 stores in Ireland in 2013.

The US company said its significant expansion plans were a response to “growing consumer demand for affordable, healthier choices”.
