Consultants have been appointed to ensure hundreds of flood-hit houses and businesses in Co Cork are not put at further risk.

Contracts signed for flood prevention schemes

Contracts were signed in County Hall yesterday for developing flood risk management schemes in Douglas, Glanmire, and Riverstick areas.

Douglas and Glanmire suffered millions of euro of damage in floods June 28, 2012. The majority of damage in Douglas was done to the town’s businesses, while in Glanmire more 60 houses and 20 businesses were deluged.
