Fresh calls have been made to tax unused development land in Dublin as as a house price survey suggests the capital is building towards another property bubble.

Property website Daft.ie’s annual review shows that asking prices for homes in Dublin city and county experienced a dramatic turnaround — from falling by 5% in late 2012 to rising by 17% in late 2013.

The trend is at odds with what is happening in the rest of the country, where prices continued to fall in 2013, although the rate of change slowed from a fall of 16% in 2011 to 6% last year.
