CIT researchers get smart to tackle grease traps

It will prove a godsend for the catering industry, taking the drudge out of sludge by ensuring drains don’t get clogged up with grease.

Researchers at Cork Institute of Technology have come up with a ‘smart system’ which will help prevent grease blocking drains.

Experts at CIT’s Nimbus Centre have received a grant of €263,000 from Enterprise Ireland to commercialise the water-network maintenance device known as Fogmon.
