* Rosanna Davison, who won the Miss World contest 10 years ago, and Wesley Quirke get engaged while on a family holiday in Mauritius. Wes presented her with a sparkler worth €40,000 after asking permission from her dad, singer Chris De Burgh. But the nuptials won’t happen until 2015.

* U2 drummer Larry Mullen promises fans that the band’s long-awaited new album will be released in September. Oh no it won’t!
