The University of Limerick yesterday signed a €100 million loan agreement with the European Investment Bank to part-fund a €224m five-year development plan which will provide more than 700 construction jobs and nearly 300 full-time academic posts.

The 2014-2018 strategy will see €62m invested off campus in a city centre satellite facility with 400 student bedrooms, as well as a new clinical research building at University Hospital Limerick.
