Hunt after Garda cars rammed in 100km chase

Gardaí are still searching for one of a three-man burglary team that rammed two Garda cars during a 100km high-speed car chase.

Gardaí were forced to pursue the vehicle carrying the men as it drove at high speed away from the burglary of a shop in Ballinalee, Co Longford, and eventually onto the N4 road towards Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

With a number of patrol cars in pursuit, the vehicle carrying the men was only stopped when gardaí used a “stinger” strung across the road, thereby puncturing the car’s tyres.
