Ulster Bank customers hit by technical glitch

Ulster Bank customers last night reported difficulties withdrawing money from ATMs and accessing online bank accounts. They were also unable to use their cards at tills.

The problems are believed to be linked to technical difficulties at Natwest UK. Natwest is a sister bank of Ulster Bank.

There were reports yesterday of a major technical outage at Natwest, with a possible knock-on affect on other European banks. The problem for NatWest began around 6.30pm yesterday.
