Beginning today at 3pm, the Irish Examiner-backed event will run on Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday from 11am to 5pm.

The Glucksman’s annual craft fair is a highlight of Cork’s cultural calendar and gives people a chance to acquire distinctive Irish crafts at a range of prices.

The gallery spaces will feature gifts from leading Irish craft artists presenting work in textiles, ceramics, woodturning, furniture, prints, basketry, jewellery, and many more.

The gallery’s creative team will also run art workshops in the River Room, enabling parents to shop and children to have fun making their own craft masterpieces.

Glucksman director Fiona Kearney said the fair will be a wonderful showcase for the artistry and value of Irish craft.

“It is a chance to support our local economy at a time when a lot of people want to find ways to give and buy Irish,” she said.

Admission is €5, with all proceeds benefiting the Glucksman’s artistic programme of events, educational workshops, and activities that run throughout the year.

Admission is free to people who present a craft fair 2013 flyer at the door.
