Dream team? O’Neill and Keane odds on
Bookmakers in Dublin suspended betting on Martin O’Neill on Thursday and he looks set to become Giovanni Trapattoni’s successor. They might now do the same on the prospect of Roy Keane being involved — it’s believed O’Neill wants him as his deputy. If so, it should make an interesting duet: O’Neill the nice guy who encourages players and Keane the firebrand soccer star who took to management like a duck to wet cement.
If O’Neill is appointed, his first game in charge will be a friendly against Latvia on Friday, Nov 15.
