The Government has been urged to reaffirm its commitment to investing in mental health, after the sum provided in the budget fell far short of what was promised.

Junior Health Minister Kathleen Lynch said she has been guaranteed that the €15m dropped for mental health funding in 2014 will be reinstated in 2015.

The Coalition had promised in its Programme for Government to ring-fence €35m per year to modernise mental health services.
