Calls for national publicity campaign after child attacks

The Government faces calls for a robust child protection campaign to safeguard the security and health of children following the attacks on two young girls in Athlone.

Fianna Fáil said a national education and publicity campaign was needed in the aftermath of the attack.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny said that everything would be done to support the community there and that further measures to protect children were on the way.
