Queue as house goes on market for €30k

Unoccupied houses in a Co Monaghan estate have been put on the market with an asking price from just €30,000.

The semi-detached houses were originally priced between €235,000 and €240,000.

Dozens of eager house hunters have started camp out at the Knock Carrick estate in Annyalla, near Castleblayney in the hope of getting their hands on one of 11 bargain houses.

One three-bedroom semi-detached house will be sold for only €30,000 whilst one four-bedroom semi will be sold for just €39,000.

A further five four-bedroomed houses will be sold for €48,950 each, a finished four-bedroomed house at €59,950 and two three-bedroomed houses will be sold for €36,950 and €38,950.

Mother-of-three Ciara Downey already rents a house in Knock Carrick but wants a home of her own and she is number 1 in the queue.

The houses will be sold by Gunne Auctioneers on behalf of Dublin-based receiver Farrell Grant Sparks at noon tomorrow with viewing beginning at 10.30am.

Chris Smith, regional manager of Gunne Auctioneers described the interest in these houses as ‘phenomenal’.
