Eurovision changes amid bribery claims
Some countries have allegedly been offering ‘all kinds of everything’ to secure the votes of a previously anonymous panel of judges.
From next year individual judge’s names and scores will be published in an effort to increase transparency and “clamp down on attempts to unfairly influence the voting”.
Music industry professionals who comprise the panel of judges will also only be allowed to participate once every three years.
The changes have been unveiled amid allegations that votes were bought in support of Azerbaijan’s entry, which finished second behind Danish singer Emmelie de Forest in this year’s contest.
