Geldof set for Freedom of City of London

Bob Geldof will cement his position as Britain’s most treasured Irish export when he is awarded the ‘Freedom of the City of London’ next week.

The Dublin-born rocker and philanthropist is to be granted the prestigious honour in a ceremony next Monday.

Geldof, 61, is already a freeman of his native city, after receiving the honour back in 2006 in recognition of his humanitarian award.
