Hanks puts flight on hold to see hurling

Shannon Airport has had a few world-famous visitors this summer.

In June, it had Irish-American royalty in Jean Kennedy Smith. Last month it was Bruce Springsteen, swiftly followed by Justin Timberlake and movie star wife Jessica Biel.

Last weekend, it was the turn of Oscar winner Tom Hanks and his family to arrive at Shannon as they transited the airport for a fuel-stop en route from Greece to the US.
