Man detained following €100k heroin seizure

A man was being questioned at a Cork City Garda station last night following what is believed to be the largest heroin seizure in the city this year.

The drugs — with an estimated street value of €100,00 — were recovered yesterday from a house near the Leesdale Estate area of Model Farm Rd by members of the Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit.

The raid on the house, which took place at about 4.30pm, was part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the City.
