Football app lets you take on Mourinho

If you think you have a better idea than David Moyes about what to do with Wayne Rooney, or if you believe you have more tactical nous than José Mourinho, then an Irish researcher has developed the app for you.

Inspired by the books Moneyball and Soccernomics, and using cutting edge predictive modelling from the medical research, the app — Beat Your Manager — is the first fantasy football app that allows you to pit yourself against the Premier League’s top managers.

The app has been developed in Dublin City University by a researcher into cellular and molecular biology, Padraig Doolan, who realised that the modelling from his lab could be transferred to the beautiful game.
