40k fans expected as jazz festival line-up unveiled

Tens of thousands of music fans are already salivating at the prospect of the line up for the forthcoming Cork Guinness Jazz Festival, which will include top acts like English saxophone legend Courtney Pine and the show-stopping Chic.

Details of the some of acts, who will take to the stage Oct 25-28 were announced yesterday, and it is expected that they will attract more than 40,000 visitors to the city for what is regarded as Europe’s premier jazz festivals.

Now in 35th year, the event proves a major cash boost for hotels, pubs and restaurants and attracts hundreds of musicians during the October Bank Holiday weekend.
