Ryanair has defended its use of a photograph of Cork to promote flights to Dublin in a French newspaper — by claiming nowhere in the capital looked as nice.

The advertisement for €29.99 flights to Dublin has run in some French publications, but the accompanying photograph triggered a few memories for exiled Corkonians.

The picture was taken on the rooftop bar of Electric on Cork’s South Mall, with a view of Parliament Bridge and the nearby Holy Trinity Church.
