Jobs Minister Richard Bruton has insisted progress is being made in kickstarting the economy — despite being told his jobs plan may as well not exist.

Speaking at an Oireachtas jobs, enterprise, and innovation committee meeting yesterday, Mr Bruton said the Government remains on track to create 100,000 jobs during its term in power.

He said recent Live Register figures show that, despite the still-brittle nature of the national economy, more jobs are being created every month.
