Long makes it a wedding hat-trick for Boys in Green

It was definitely worth missing the friendly defeat by Spain.

Ireland striker Shane Long married his girlfriend Kayleah Adams on Saturday — making it a hat-trick of boys in green tying the knot this weekend.

The Tipperary-born marksman exchanged vows with his bride at St Mary’s Church in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow, while fellow internationals Aiden McGeady and Noel Hunt also went up the aisle over the weekend. Long had withdrawn from the Irish squad that lost 2-0 to Spain during the week because of his wedding.

The footballers’ weddings didn’t stop there either — England and Arsenal striker Theo Walcott also underwent the nuptials when he married his longtime girlfriend, Melanie Slade, at the Castello Di Vincigliata in Florence.
