Review: Olly Murs - Live at the Marquee

Who better than the crowd-engaging Olly Murs to be the opening act for the summer fun that is Live at the Marquee.

Review: Olly Murs - Live at the Marquee

Opening with his hit, Army Of Two, from his third studio album, Right Place Right Time, was definitely the “right move” as the entire audience sang along to the well-known tune.

Olly incorporated many of his old and memorable tracks, such as Dance With Me Tonight, and his new material, Hey You Beautiful. His classics excited the audience and got the people out of their seats.

However, the songs from his new album also proved he has enough talent to outshine and outlast most pop stars.

It was surprising to hear Olly Murs sing a slower and more sentimental tune such as Dear Darlin.

The emotion Olly portrayed in this song, accompanied by the piano, was the perfect example of his versatility.

His concert showcased his upbeat music and his energetic dance moves. Yet it is really his natural charisma that captures the audience.

And Olly knew exactly what he was getting himself into when he said: “What happens in Cork, stays in Cork!”

He saved Troublemaker for his encore, a perfect end to the night.
