Almost 40% of households are unable to pay their bills on time, despite signs that disposable income available to families is beginning to stabilise.

The latest ‘What’s Left’ tracker from the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) found that the average monthly income for a household is €2,710.

The average net income, after tax for a person, with no family commitments, is €1,470.
