FF ‘on course for local elections win’

Fianna Fáil is on course to become the largest party on local authorities if the results of the latest opinion poll are replicated in next summer’s local elections.

The party’s support is now level with Fine Gael’s at 26% in the latest Red C Poll, published in the Sunday Business Post, which shows Labour and Sinn Féin unchanged, on 11% and 16% respectively.

The poll was conducted early last week in the midst of the storm over Justice Minister Alan Shatter’s use of garda information against the Independent TD Mick Wallace during a RTÉ Prime Time interview.
