Stabbing accused arrives by horse
Patrick Fouhy, of Ballydaw, Castlelyons, Co Cork, had been charged in March with assault causing harm to Garda Denis Ryan at Fermoy Mart, Corrin, on Mar 21 during a protest.
The 62-year-old arrived for his appearance yesterday before Fermoy District Court on a horse and wearing a brown cowboy hat. There were traffic delays as he made his way along the main street to the court.
Following a brief hearing, the case was adjourned to a date in June.
Mr Fouhy had previously appeared before Mallow District Court in connection with the alleged incident.
