Charity appeal to help Spanish couple

An urgent appeal for help has been issued for a Spanish couple — left without anything after a robbery — who were rushed to hospital after the mother went in to early labour.

The woman, who is in her 20s and 37 weeks pregnant, was being supported by her husband at Cork University Hospital (CUH) last night as they awaited the birth of a baby boy.

Hospital staff were helping to care for the couple’s 3-year-old daughter.
