Profit jump at jockey’s firm
Filings with the Companies House in Britain by McCoy’s AP Enterprises Ltd show profits increased by £281,350, from £713,932 to £995,282.
Cash increased by £301,695, from €233,051 to €534,746.
Shareholder funds increased from £719,798 to £1.053m in the 12 months to the end of the end of May 31, 2012.
The firm had net current assets of £136,934 compared to net current liabilities of £223,705 in 2011.
The Co Antrim born McCoy is the biggest name in jump racing and is seeking to extend his record of champion jump jockey in Britain to 18 seasons.
McCoy is managing director of AP Enterprises Ltd where he is the sole shareholder.
The return confirms that McCoy “has a close, day-to-day involvement and regularly reviews all the financial information available. The company also has the continued support of the director and who will only draw down on his loan account when sufficient funds are available”.
McCoy has recorded over 3,800 wins across his career and in doing so has broken almost every bone in his body.
The 38-year old jockey won the Cheltenham Gold Cup last year and won the English Grand National in 2010.
Orion are to publish McCoy’s first crime novel later this year.
