Farmer stabs garda in mart dispute

A detective garda who had a truck driven at him was stabbed a number of times in the hand as he tried to take the keys off the driver.

The garda was attacked by a farmer who had got involved in a dispute with other people attending a mart in Co Cork.

The detective, who is in his early 30s, was still receiving treatment at Cork University Hospital yesterday and may require plastic surgery for his wounds.
