Taoiseach Enda Kenny said he had “no interest” in polls after a Sunday Independent poll found support for Fianna Fáil has increased by six points to 29%, with Michéal Martin now the most popular leader.

Speaking during St Patrick’s Day celebrations in the US, Mr Kenny: “I have no interest at all in polls, to be quite honest with you.

“The next election is three years hence and we will continue to implement our plan and strategy which clearly is working well with a return of confidence.
