Dubai investors say building promise not honoured

One of the troubled property projects promoted by Galway developer Kevin McGeever in Dubai is again at the centre of a dispute, as investors there claim a promise that its stalled construction would recommence has not been honoured.

The renewed wrangle over the Shami Towers project makes it even more unlikely that buyers introduced to the project by Mr McGeever will ever see their investment returned.

Mr McGeever caused a sensation in late January when he was found wandering confused, emaciated, and filthy on a Co Leitrim road eight months after he vanished from his home in Craughwell, Co Galway.
