Sinn Féin wants gardaí to investigate Lowry

Sinn Féin TD Pearse Doherty has called on gardaí to investigate Michael Lowry after the broadcasting of a controversial recording in which he contradicts evidence he supplied to the Moriarty Tribunal.

Mr Doherty said the public should not feel there was one rule for them and another for elected representatives.

He said he did not know if Mr Lowry had committed an offence under the Tribunal of Inquiry Evidence Act but there was enough information in the public domain to warrant an investigation.
