Foul play not ruled out in case of body in burnt car

Gardaí have not yet ruled out foul play in the death of a woman whose body was found in the burnt-out remains of a car near Dundalk, Co Louth, on Thursday night.

Deputy state pathologist Dr Khalid Jabbar yesterday carried out a preliminary examination of the remains at the scene of the car fire at Giles Quay on the coast between Dundalk and Carlingford.

But the body was only removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda in the afternoon and a full postmortem examination will not be begin there until this morning.
