The Cork Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (CSPCA) has warned against bogus inspectors who have snatched dogs from owners in north Cork.

The agency said it is liaising with gardaí and the ISCPA after receiving reports that two people posing as CSPCA inspectors removed a dog under false pretences from the home of an elderly man in recent days.

“In effect, these individuals stole the dog while impersonating the CSPCA, regardless of their reasoning or cause,” an agency spokesman said.
