Gardaí search for cleaver-wielding masked attackers

Gardaí are searching for two masked men who attacked a 41-year-old man with a meat cleaver and hammer as he was preparing to go to work.

The men, who were wearing hoodies with scarves drawn across their faces, attacked the man as he was about to get into his car on the northside of Cork City early yesterday.

He was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was treated for wounds to his head and hand.
