Burglar struck with golf club during break-in

A suspected burglar has been hospitalised after he was struck by a golf club during an attempted break-in at a house in Co Donegal.

The man, in his early 20s, is reportedly “known” to gardaí.

The attempted burglary took place at Glencar, Letterkenny early yesterday. The suspected burglar was approached inside the house by the owner, a well-known local businessman.
