Doctor to say sorry for TV show rant

The doctor who reduced a dieter to tears on Operation Transformation has promised that she will apologise to the contestant on the show tonight.

The tough love dispensed by Dr Eva Orsmond on the RTÉ series last week to a crying Charlotte O’Connell sparked a flood of angry phone calls to the station from viewers.

The weight-loss expert admitted she has been rattled by the reaction to her straight talking, and had been considering leaving the programme in recent days.
