Alternate Quinn Jr proposal possible

An alternative financial proposal relating to Sean Quinn Jr, who has said he wants to purge his contempt, may be put forward, the High Court heard yesterday.

Alternate Quinn Jr proposal possible

Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne said the position can be clarified though correspondence in advance of the next hearing on Feb 15.

In June, Ms Justice Dunne made findings of contempt against Mr Quinn Jr, father Sean Quinn Sr, and cousin Peter Darragh Quinn, of orders restraining stripping of assets from the family’s international property group.

Mr Quinn was jailed for three months and served that, while his father was later jailed for nine weeks. A warrant for the arrest of Peter Darragh Quinn to serve a three-month term remains unexecuted.

Previously, the judge was told IBRC had decided to accept Mr Quinn Jnr’s offer to sell his home at Alder Lodge, Farmleigh Woods, Castleknock, Co Dublin.

The bank previously also consented to Mr Quinn’s offer to go to Moscow to get statements concerning accounts held by Mr Quinn and other family members in Ocean Bank. The court previously heard that bank would not release statements unless an account holder appeared in person.

Ms Justice Dunne was told yesterday minor difficulties had arisen about Mr Quinn’s travel to Moscow.

She adjourned the case until Feb 15.
