More Dutch firms in horsemeat probe
The NVWA, the Dutch counterpart to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland, was drafted into the investigation at the request of the FSAI last week and has been looking into the content of additives which may have been added to the Silvercrest-produced burgers at the centre of the controversy.
NVWA spokesman Roel Vincken said “companies” in the Netherlands were being investigated, and when asked how many companies were involved replied: “At least one and maybe more than one”.
