The HSE has performed a U-turn on its decision to refuse an epileptic Cork woman the right to appeal its ruling denying funding for overseas treatment.

It is also looking more likely they may opt to treat the 27-year-old in Beaumont Hospital so she doesn’t have to leave the country.

Gráinne O’Connor, from Shanagarry, Co Cork, has life-threatening epilepsy and had been waiting to be seen at the Dublin hospital for 27 months.
