Bright start at breakfast clubs

Food giant Kellogg’s has stepped in to secure the future of several breakfast clubs in Irish schools.

Greenmount NS in Cork, which established a breakfast club on a pilot basis three years ago as part of the School Completion Programme, pioneered the concept in Ireland.

It has now become one of the first schools in Ireland to receive funding under Kellogg’s €370,000-plus Give a Child a Breakfast programme, which aims to reach 1m children in Ireland and Britain by the end of this year.
