Charges in murder inquiry

A woman will appear in court this morning charged in connection with the death of Christopher Payne more than 24 years ago.

The father of two was attacked at Rutland Grove, Crumlin, in Dublin, in May 1988 by a group of men armed with a hatchet.

He was treated in hospital for serious head injuries but never recovered. He died six months later. Two men were jailed in 1989 for their role in the attack.
