Adams had surgical procedure in the US

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams underwent surgery during a near three-week stay in New York last summer.

The party confirmed last night Mr Adams spent a night in hospital following laser treatment concerning his prostate. The visit emerged in documents filed by the party’s support group in the US, Friends of Sinn Féin (FOSF).

Mr Adams underwent the procedure in early August, was kept overnight, and spent a further nine days recovering at a friend’s apartment in Manhattan.
