Woman in critical condition after weekend crash

A woman remains in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital after a road crash on Saturday — an incident which occurred after four road deaths over the Christmas period.

The car the 26-year-old was driving is understood to have collided with a 4x4 at Cow Cross in Cobh just after 5pm on Saturday.

While the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured, the woman was badly hurt and was last night fighting for her life at CUH.
