GAA man held on sex assault claim

A senior Limerick GAA figure was arrested yesterday following allegations of sexual assault.

The man, who is married with children, was arrested at around 9am and brought to Henry St Garda Station. He was arrested at his home, a Garda spokesman confirmed.

It is understood the well- known GAA figure is being questioned about allegations of sexual assault against two of his daughters.

“I would like to stress that these are allegations at this stage of the investigation,” a Garda source said.
