Reports to determine future of former convent gutted by fire

A decision on the possible demolition of a listed former convent in Cork which was gutted by fire now hinges on engineering reports.

City manager Tim Lucey said the future of the former Good Shepherd site on Sunday’s Well cannot be decided until a range of structural assessments are considered in full by the city council.

Mr Lucey was responding to written questions tabled by local councillors Tony Fitzgerald (FF) and Mick Nugent (SF).
